Director, Program - Regional (TN)
SchoolKit is a team of experienced educators focused on improving instruction and leadership in schools. The Director of Program will oversee project teams and collaborate with leaders in Tennessee to enhance literacy initiatives for grades 6-12, requiring strong project management and instructional leadership skills.

Responsibilities
Build positive and collaborative relationships with clients, including state, district, and school leaders, to achieve project goals and contribute to the continuation and expansion of our work
Lead a portfolio of projects with schools, districts, and states that improve instruction in core academic subjects and support student growth
Develop a vision and theory of action for achieving project goals with clients, with a focus on adopting or deepening the use of high-quality instructional materials
Create project plans characterized by actionable strategic timelines and manage work towards completing key benchmarks
Create and implement leader-facing strategic plans to lead change in curriculum, content, or school improvement-focused initiatives
Design and implement role-specific coaching initiatives for educators focused on the implementation of high-quality instructional materials and standards-aligned instructional practices
Train and coach team members to effectively create and implement coaching plans and to deliver coaching
Engage with team members and clients to collect feedback and customize deliverables to meet client needs
Facilitate adult learning experiences for teachers and leaders
Coach school leaders and/or teachers to build capacity and support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials or evidence-based instructional practices
Coordinate project logistics among SchoolKit team members, clients, and partner organizations as needed on projects
Contribute to our business development strategy and proposal writing for new and existing clients
Refine our services through sharing and learning from common challenges, best practices, and collaborating to create new tools and techniques
Build expertise on the latest research, resources, and evidence-based practices in instructional leadership and change management
Hire, develop, manage, and retain team members while ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment that reflects SchoolKit's culture, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in K - 12 education, including 3+ years in a system or state-level leadership or school leadership role (principal equivalent, not coach or AP)
Understanding of and experience with college and career-ready standards, instructional shifts, and assessments in K-12
Knowledge of and experience providing recommendations on the full range of decisions that leaders can make at the school and/or system level to improve instruction
Minimum of 3 years of experience in secondary literacy instruction, including providing support for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and striving readers
Experience supporting HQIM implementation at the systems level—preferably with district stakeholders—including leading or advising on districtwide rollout, progress monitoring, and capacity-building structures
Experience managing multiple, concurrent projects with a diverse set of stakeholders and workstreams
Experience leading the implementation of high-quality instructional materials aligned to college and career-ready standards
A successful track record of leading instructional change initiatives and improving student achievement in partnership with multiple stakeholders
Knowledge of best practices and experience in coaching instructional leaders and leading coaching initiatives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences, align stakeholders, and foster strong relationships
Strong people management skills, including experience managing and developing individuals with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred
A bachelor's degree, master's degree in education or a related field preferred
