Responsibilities

Gain experience on the Xerox Cybersecurity Team (XCS) as the first line of defense in protecting information systems
Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate and customer data
Focus on monitoring and investigating security alerts, applying analysis techniques, and documenting findings in an event case management system
Work closely with Senior Incident Responders and Cyber Threat Intelligence to ensure timely and effective insight and resolution of real-world security issues
Be trained on policies, security tools, threat & attack vector concepts, analysis techniques, artifact collection, reporting, and other skills required to conduct cybersecurity investigations
Investigate security events using cutting-edge security tools and technologies, including endpoint, cloud, email, web application firewalls, and external attack surfaces
Gain hands-on experience using analysis techniques to analyze security logs and artifacts to determine impact and root cause
Engage with business stakeholders and provide remediation guidance
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends
Identify and apply skills in key phases of the Incident Response Lifecycle

Required

Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Data Science
Must be able to work a 40-hour work week (Monday-Friday) between June 3rd – August 22nd
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred

Basic knowledge of network security tools and firewall analysis techniques to identify anomalies
Foundational knowledge of endpoint detection & response tools, and search queries to aid investigations
Foundational knowledge of datacenter environments and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure)
Exposure to security incident and event management platform capabilities and query formulation
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
