Responsibilities
Execute Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&Rs) for HV batteries covering mechanical, environmental, performance, compliance, and abuse testing
Participate in weekly cross-functional DVP meetings and provide testing progress updates
Create and maintain documentation including DVP&Rs, test procedures, RFQs, and test reports
Travel to test facilities to review test setups and ensure proper execution
Identify appropriate test assets, data acquisition systems, sensors, and accessories to ensure high-quality test data
Assist with DUT teardowns and failure analysis
Analyze test data and generate graphs, charts, tables, calculations, and clear test reports
Perform preliminary root cause analysis for test failures to verify procedures, setups, and DUT conditions
Design test fixtures required to complete validation testing
Manage validation schedules to ensure availability of test assets and identify critical path items
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
3+ years of experience in high-voltage battery testing or validation
Familiarity with HV battery standards such as UN 38.3, UL 2580, SAE J2464, SAE J2929, ECE R100, IEC 60068-2
Experience with DFMEA and root cause analysis
Experience using requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion or equivalent)
Hands-on experience with laboratory and measurement equipment including DAQ systems, power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, accelerometers, thermocouples, CAN, LIN, and automotive Ethernet
Experience with project management tools such as JIRA and Kanban methodologies
Preferred
Familiarity with 3D design tools such as CATIA 3DX, CATIA V5, or SolidWorks
EMI/EMC validation experience
Experience with Vector tools (e.g., CANalyzer or similar)
