Staff NPI Data Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities
Champion the use of data analytics (using tools like Python, SQL, JMP and/or state-of-the-art manufacturing analytics platforms) throughout the NPI process to model performance, yield, predict bottlenecks, and validate process capabilities, ensuring a smooth transition to volume production. Own end-to-end delivery of the automated validation POC, including scope, milestones, success criteria, risk mitigation, and scale-up planning across development and production phases
Partner closely with internal test, characterization, reliability, and manufacturing teams to standardize data generation, ingestion, and KPI reporting across electrical, optical, RF, and imaging datasets. Ensure validation workflows align with evolving development, qualification, and production needs
Define and enforce standardized data submission formats and KPI definitions for component suppliers. Enable consistent, apple-to-apple supplier comparisons at lot and component levels to support qualification, sourcing, and risk decisions
Establish and enforce data schemas for metadata, test data, reliability data, and quality data across internal and external sources. Maintain data integrity, traceability, and version control throughout the NPD lifecycle
Drive Product & Process Traceability: Design and implement systems for complete data traceability, linking material lots, process parameters, and equipment data to individual unit serial numbers. This is critical for root cause analysis, quality audits, and regulatory compliance
Identify and execute on opportunities for yield improvement, cost reduction, and throughput enhancement by analyzing production data. Lead initiatives to transition from paper-based to electronic DHR systems, enhancing data accessibility for analytics
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field
7+ years of progressive experience in R&D, NPI, and/or Manufacturing Engineering, technical program management, validation, test systems, or data platforms
Hands-on experience in data analytics for development and manufacturing (e.g., yield analysis, process capability, SPC) and proficiency with tools such as Python, JMP, advanced Excel, or Minitab for DOE, SPC, CPK analysis, and problem-solving (5-Why, DMAIC, Fishbone)
Strong understanding of data pipelines, schema governance, KPI frameworks, and analytics systems
Experience with AI/ML logic models and their application in development and manufacturing data analytics
Proven ability to work deeply with internal test/characterization teams and external suppliers
Effective communication skills across global and multicultural teams
Strong collaboration, adaptability in dynamic environments, and a customer-focused approach to driving change and delivering results
Proven success in managing technology transfers and ramping production with overseas suppliers and contract manufacturers
