Responsibilities

Lead Site Safety Operations: Serve as the primary on-site safety authority, overseeing and coordinating all safety-related activities across the project while setting clear expectations for safe work practices and accountability
Partner with Project & Field Leadership: Act as a key liaison between Field Operations, Project Management, General Contractors, and trade partners to ensure safety is fully integrated into daily planning, scheduling, and execution of work
Drive a Proactive Safety Culture: Champion a jobsite culture where safety is a shared responsibility by actively engaging crews, addressing unsafe behaviors, and reinforcing safe work practices through consistent presence and leadership
Oversee Training & Compliance: Plan, conduct, and coordinate jobsite safety orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized trainings, ensuring all required certifications and training records are accurately documented and maintained
Manage Incident Prevention & Response: Lead the investigation of all injuries, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence while ensuring timely and accurate documentation
Evaluate High-Risk Work Activities: Review and oversee safety planning and execution for high-risk operations such as crane and rigging activities, excavations, electrical work, confined spaces, and other critical construction tasks
Conduct Audits & Inspections: Perform routine and scheduled jobsite safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company standards, and project-specific safety requirements
Maintain Safety Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed daily safety reports capturing site activities, observations, corrective actions, critical conversations, and emerging risks
Lead Emergency Preparedness & Response: Serve as the primary safety lead during emergency situations, coordinating response efforts and ensuring calm, effective communication under pressure

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required
7+ years of experience as a construction safety professional, including serving as the lead safety manager on large-scale projects
Demonstrated experience working on complex, multi-employer construction sites
Current First Aid / CPR certification
Completion of OSHA 30-hour Construction training required
CHST certification (Construction Health & Safety Technician) required

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Safety or Construction Management or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
