Responsibilities
Configure and program Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and FactoryTalk systems for high-speed assembly and packaging lines
Design, implement, and troubleshoot machine control logic, safety interlocks, and communication protocols across automation networks
Assess OEM automation proposals, focusing on control architecture, hardware/software compatibility, and scalability
Develop and execute risk-based commissioning and qualification protocols for automated systems, ensuring compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards
Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks, optimize cycle times, and enhance line efficiency using advanced control strategies
Configure process data historians and integrate real-time data acquisition for monitoring and reporting
Implement and debug vision systems for part inspection and quality verification within automated workflows
Author and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, control narratives, and system architecture diagrams
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers on automation programming, troubleshooting, and best practices
Qualification
Required
PLC & HMI Programming: Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation platforms (Allen Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk View, ControlLogix)
Automation Engineering: Strong background in machine controls, industrial networks, and integration of automated systems
Capital Project Delivery: Proven ability to deliver automation solutions within large-scale capital projects in regulated environments
Preferred
Experience with vision systems, servo motion control, and robotics integration
Familiarity with cGMPs, commissioning, and qualification processes
Proficiency in DOE, GR&R, and statistical analysis for process optimization
B.S./M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent experience)
