Responsibilities

Lead the purchasing team in sourcing marine products, equipment, and services, including boat parts, lifts, dock materials, and related supplies
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers in the marine industry
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve the best value and maintain favorable supply conditions
Monitor inventory levels, track purchasing schedules, and coordinate with operations to ensure timely availability of materials
Evaluate suppliers’ performance, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions when necessary
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to identify purchasing needs and specifications
Analyze market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards
Prepare reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for management review

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
5+ years' experience in purchasing, ideally within the marine, boating, or related industrial markets
Strong knowledge of marine products, equipment, and industry suppliers
Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficient with purchasing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong leadership and team management abilities
