Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems with a security focus
Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security
Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements
Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs
Educating and Mentoring teams on the implementation of cloud technologies and initiatives
Lead the technical design, maintenance, and operation of cloud-based platforms (Azure and AWS)
Will lead cloud-based Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity design, planning, and testing
Assist with screening new projects and initiatives to ensure operational readiness
Document and diagram processes, procedures, standards, and playbooks
Ensure the service health for critical capabilities within IT is maintained
Stay ahead of technological trends, constantly evaluating what’s best for the company
Evaluates and researches new technologies that align with the strategic direction of IT and Sherwood Companies
Possesses a continuous improvement mindset and proactively looks for opportunities to increase efficiencies, refine processes and reduce costs with internal IT processes as well as throughout the business

Qualification
Required
10+ years of technology experience required
10+ years of information technology experience required
Proficient with agile/product methodology
Proficient with PowerShell, Python, or equivalent
Security focused with emphasis on patching and OS maintenance across server and client environments
Proficient with enterprise monitoring with a strong focus on automated remediation
Understanding of relational databases and related data stores
Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and distributed networks
Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
In-depth knowledge of cloud-based platforms (primarily AWS and Azure) and expertise across broad technology disciplines such as Compute, Storage and Networking verticals
Experience designing, implementing, or operating systems on leading enterprise platforms
Understanding of cloud ecosystems and of current and emerging technologies and trends, with ability to rapidly assess and apply new and emerging technologies
Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery principles
Performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions
Ability to develop roadmaps and plans that enable strategies
Ability to develop and promote creative alternatives to solve business requirements
Naturally curious and nimble learner
Passionate about mentoring and development of team members
Ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
Preferred
AWS or Azure certifications preferred
Knowledge of webservices, API, REST and RPC are a plus
