Responsibilities
Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance
Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses
Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline
Performs conventional design and analysis
Provides construction and project support
May lead projects and supervise the work of others
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Identifies and leads activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance
Performs conventional and unique structural design and analysis
Identifies system integration activities within and across disciplines
Integrates construction and project activities
Identifies and manages work process improvement to meet customer needs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of practical work experience
Position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities
Ability to receive and hold a DOE Q clearance and participate in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances
Expert knowledge of industry, regulatory, or DOE/NNSA complex codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to your engineering discipline
Proven knowledge of applicable codes and standards in common use at DOE and DOD facilities (ASCE, ASME, NQA-1, IBC, IEBC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, etc)
Extensive prior experience facilitating design package development
Senior-level understanding of common engineering design document deliverables
Preferred
Advanced engineering or technical degree
Experience in the use of common computer aided drafting software or mark-up software
