Undergraduate Intern Summer 2026 - Adult Competition

The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis, focused on promoting and developing tennis at all levels. The Adult Competition Intern will support the Adult Competition Team with initiatives such as USTA Adult Leagues and Tournaments, providing exposure to program operations and contributing to the USTA’s adult competitive portfolio.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing growth strategies to increase student participation and club tennis engagement across collegiate campuses
Coordinate the continued rollout of Red Ball Tennis programs in non-traditional spaces (e.g., breweries, corporate campuses, or multi-sport facilities) to lower barriers to entry for new players
Support the scaling of USTA Flex Leagues by identifying untapped markets and drafting localized outreach plans to attract self-scheduled competitive players
Assist in maintaining and updating the Adult Competition sections of the USTA website, ensuring all program information, resources, and schedules are accurate and engaging
Execute project-based tasks for League National Championships, including logistics planning, player communications, and on-site operational deliverables

Required

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders
A keen interest in event planning, sports operations, and the tennis industry
Attention to detail and a problem-solving attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
