Moreno Cardenas Inc. is a consulting engineering firm based in El Paso seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer. The role involves designing, analyzing, and determining electrical requirements for various P&C assets, as well as preparing engineering designs and specifications.

Responsibilities

Perform calculations to analyze substation electrical and/or P&C designs
Responsible for the preparation of protection and control engineering designs and construction specifications
Responsible for the facilitating procurement of construction materials and/or services by contractors and the inspection and compliance of all the assigned projects
Assist engineering team with field work as required by project
Identify and manage capital and grid modernization projects
Perform other related tasks that are not included but are within the context of the duties defined

Required

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without reasonable accommodation that the essential functions of the job can be performed
A strong desire to work in the electrical engineering consulting field
A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university
Knowledge of Power Systems and or Power Engineering
Sound electrical engineering principles, knowledge of AutoCAD, Aspen One-Liner, Math CAD, Excel, Word and experience in general electrical engineering software
Fundamentals of AC and DC circuits, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical engineering design and techniques, electrical construction methods and specifications, project estimating and scheduling, and applicable standards
Ability to adapt and ability to quickly learn
Ability to multitask and manage several projects at once
You are enthusiastic about a professional electrical engineering career
You welcome responsibility and aren't afraid to ask questions
You are a problem solver
You have excellent written and verbal communications skills
You are diligent with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Preferred

Previous professional-level work experience or internship preferred
EIT certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (not required)
Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code as it pertains to substation and transmission facilities preferred
