Responsibilities

Provides transactional support as a member of the HR team in the IUSM Department of Pediatrics. Organizes, supports, and maintains HR processes, programs, events, and meetings
Provides other HR support as needed related to payroll, staff recruitment, faculty affairs, edoc processing, data management, and compliance
Conducts department-wide applicant screening to ensure all applicants meet minimum qualifications and rehire eligibility
Supports HRBPs and hiring managers in managing the administrative components of all HR processes
Manages and coordinates part-time staff hires
Processes background checks and I9 verifications as needed
Assists in organizing the faculty reappointment process
Assists with coordination of the promotion and tenure and faculty annual review processes
Coordinates team meetings, events, and other administrative duties as needed
Serves as department HIPAA Liaison
Serves as department Programs Involving Children (PIC) Compliance Coordinator
Organizes and manages all CHRIS data for the HR team (uploads, updates, records management, etc.)
Compiles and tracks data related to compensation, performance management, staff recruitment, and employee retention
Serves as back up payroll processor, verifying accuracy of payroll information, processing adjustments and corrections, and managing inquiries
Processes various edocs as needed based on specific employee situations
Serves as member of department's staff recruitment workgroup
Additional administrative duties as needed
Ad hoc committee/work group assignments as needed
Back-up to HRBPs as needed
Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains academic and/or staff HR related work, which may include but not limited to: recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, tenure, performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s and employee leaves of absences
Researches and analyzes academic and/or staff HR related topics to help assist in resolving issues and/or creating solutions
Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documents for academic and/or staff HR related activities
Performs and may coordinate data entry for processing transactions and maintaining and keeping information current for candidates, employees and/or retirees on a variety of academic and/or staff HR issues
Provides administrative and related support to other academic and/or staff HR staff
Supports and maintains academic and/or staff HR programs and events; maintains up-to-date records of actions, decisions, and time frames
Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents

Required

High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
3 years of HR related experience plus advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite products

Highly thorough and dependable
Demonstrates written communication skills
Experience utilizing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
