They are seeking a Transportation Engineer 1 to begin their career in Civil Engineering, providing hands-on training and experience in various engineering disciplines while overseeing construction projects and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities

Develop traffic models, environmental mitigation documents and create construction plans for upcoming roadway, bridge, culvert, safety, drainage and other projects
Oversee projects being constructed to ensure contractors follow specifications
Develop simple and complex traffic management designs, manage ODOT’s motor vehicle fleet and oversee winter operations
Participate in training opportunities including GEOPAK Microstation, Surveying/CADD, Project Manager Training, Bridges, Safety, plus hundreds of other training options

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering
Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
All answers to the supplemental questions must be supported by the work experience/education provided on your civil service application
This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards
All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period
Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check
An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration
