Systems Engineer SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Responsibilities
Develop and implement R&D strategies aligned with the U.S. Army C5ISR mission objectives
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and methodologies to drive innovation
Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for advancement
Lead, mentor, and inspire the R&D team, fostering technical excellence and career development
Oversee all aspects of R&D projects, ensuring alignment with DoD Cyber Security Strategy and architecture requirements
Technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding
Evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems
Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance
Collaborate with customer stakeholders, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel to achieve program goals
Qualification
Required
20+ years of NSA certification experience, coupled with extensive expertise in COMSEC and secure device design
Recognized SME in COMSEC and certification, across a width breadth of link, radio and IP families
Proven ability to conduct comprehensive TRANSEC needs assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
20 years+ of experience in cryptographic modernization initiatives
Expertise in Cryptographic Modernization (CM1, ACC, CM2) strategy, policy, and best practices
Extensive experience with Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) at all tiers and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), including Over-The-Net Keying (OTNK)
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline
Appropriate DoD 8750 certification (Security+ or higher)
Familiarity with Government security policies and security-related technologies and auditing tools
U.S. Citizenship and possession of a TS/SCI Clearance
Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI at time of consideration
Preferred
Experience in heterogeneous computer networking technology and work in protocol and/or interface standards specification
Experience supporting Army programs
