InternMonteith Construction Corp. is a commercial construction company in the Carolinas, seeking an Accounting Intern for their summer internship program. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with the Accounting team, participating in financial project costing, managing costs, and assisting with accounts receivable and payable.

Responsibilities
Observe monthly financial project costing meetings
Help to administer and control General Conditions costs, review purchase orders, and check requests
Help the Accounting team maintain accounts with utility providers for project teams
Interact with trade partners and vendors regarding technical and contractual matters
Analyze the revenue and profitability of each construction project
With the project team and project accountant, work to manage overall costs as they relate to the budget
Assist in trade partner payables, as well as manage accounts receivable
Assist project teams with monthly job cost analysis and forecasts
Gain a general overview of our Scheduling, VDC, Accounting, Marketing, Business Development, Preconstruction, and Estimating processes
Qualification
Required
Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and seeking a degree in Accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to continue to work part-time throughout the fall semester
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing
