Northwestern Mutual is seeking an Onboarding & Recruiting Specialist to support both their internal recruiting team and advisor offices. The role involves managing onboarding for Financial Advisor candidates and providing full-cycle recruiting support to expand advisor teams.

Responsibilities

Partner with a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists to facilitate onboarding for Financial Advisor candidates across multiple offices
Manage and track onboarding milestones including applications, background checks, licensing coordination, internal assessments, and start-date readiness
Serve as a point of contact for candidates throughout the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and timely experience
Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure compliance and onboarding requirements are met
Maintain accurate onboarding trackers and reporting across offices
Partner directly with Financial Advisors and leadership to support the expansion of their teams
Assist with full-cycle recruiting for staff roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination
Help advisors define role needs, timelines, and candidate profiles for open positions
Conduct initial candidate screenings and coordinate interview logistics
Provide guidance and structure to advisors throughout the hiring process to ensure consistency and efficiency

Required

1–3 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, HR, or onboarding
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with candidates, recruiters, and advisors
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to manage multiple priorities across onboarding and recruiting functions
Proactive, people-oriented, and solutions-focused

Preferred

Experience in financial services or a regulated environment is strongly preferred
