Responsibilities
Analyze, debug, and resolve complex Linux and virtualization issues across platform and system software
Perform performance analysis and optimization of virtualization platforms and workloads
Develop, review, and maintain low-level and system software using C, Python, and x86_64 assembly
Drive root-cause analysis of complex system behavior across Linux and hypervisor environments
Build and enhance automation workflows to improve debugging efficiency, validation, and platform reliability
Collaborate with enterprise customers, OEMs, OS partners, and internal AMD teams to triage and resolve escalated issues
Provide architectural and design input that helps shape platform software direction
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams
Stay current on emerging trends in Linux, virtualization, and platform software
Qualification
Required
Analyze, debug, and resolve complex Linux and virtualization issues across platform and system software
Perform performance analysis and optimization of virtualization platforms and workloads

Preferred
Experience in virtualization engineering and Linux kernel or system-level debugging
Familiarity with VMware ESXi, Nutanix AHV, or KVM-based hypervisors
Hands-on development experience using C, Python, and low-level programming
Understanding of x86_64 architecture, system performance tuning, and optimization techniques
Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks for platform or system software
Experience working with enterprise customers, OEMs, or OS partners to resolve complex Linux or virtualization issues
Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction as a senior individual contributor
Master's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
