Central Region Senior Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

Conducting Safety Inspections
Maintaining Safety Policies during the oversight of subcontractors and ensure safety planning is being adhered to across the program
Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification
Conducting Work Site Training and Education
Investigating Incidents and Accidents
Ensuring Regulatory Compliance
Collaborate with Client and Contractors to promote an effective and proactive Safety Culture

Qualification

Construction safety experienceOSHA 30-hour trainingSafety regulationsProfessional Certification GSPProfessional Certification ASPCommunication skillsProblem-solving skills

Required

US Citizen
Relevant experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction industry safety or general industry safety, with experience supervising or managing safety programs, conducting hazard analyses, and developing controls
OSHA 30-hour training: Completion of the OSHA 30-hour Construction or General Industry safety class, or equivalent formal training
Knowledge of safety regulations: Strong understanding of OSHA, and relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations
Communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and lead safety training sessions
Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and develop effective solutions
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
Able to work dayshift and/or Saturdays based on project requirements
Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather condition
Must wear appropriate PPE when performing tasks. The list of PPE shall include hard hats, safety glasses, safety toed boots, gloves, high vis vests, and other relevant protective equipment

Professional Certification (GSP or ASP)
Competent Person Designation in LOTO, Scaffolding, Fall Protection, Excavation
