Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design and development of automotive infotainment and telematics modules
Perform detailed mechanical design, 3D CAD modeling, and 2D drawing release
Conduct FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up to ensure design robustness
Support tooling development, prototype builds, and production release
Work with manufacturing teams on aluminum die casting, sheet metal, and plastic enclosures
Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
Coordinate with electrical, hardware, and system engineering teams
Manage suppliers, review tooling, and support validation and testing activities
Ensure compliance with automotive standards, reliability, and quality requirements
Support failure analysis, root cause investigations, and design improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
10+ years of automotive mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2 years in Infotainment and/or Telematics
Strong experience in mechanical design, FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up
Hands-on knowledge of tooling, aluminum die casting, and sheet metal design
Proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, NX, Creo, or SolidWorks)
Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with automotive validation, environmental testing, and vibration/shock analysis
Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA, and APQP processes
Prior experience supporting mass production programs
