Payroll Specialist
Vaco by Highspring is seeking a detail-focused and highly organized Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations. This role involves assisting with payroll processing, ensuring accurate employee pay, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
Perform essential payroll-related tasks to support the completion of bi-weekly payroll processing
Set up temporary employees in the Time on Demand system
Enter and onboard hourly new hires in Paycor
Assign and maintain work schedules for all hourly employees
Audit departmental timesheets on a daily basis
Process corrections within the time clock database as needed
Review Daily Attendance Sheets to identify potential payroll discrepancies
Confirm approved vacation time is applied to the correct dates and pay periods
Respond to and assist departments with payroll-related questions and requests
Maintain payroll records and box files for proper storage
Assist with weekly new-hire orientation
Perform additional duties as assigned
Support the overall goal of accurately processing bi-weekly hourly payroll
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
Prior payroll experience required
Strong data entry skills and effective record-keeping abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft business applications, including Word and Excel
Knowledge of basic accounting principles, practices, and procedures
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred
Associate's degree or equivalent relevant experience
