Senior LevelRK Management Consultants, Inc. is seeking a senior-level ERP Transformation Lead / ERP SME to own and execute a full ERP modernization initiative for a growing food distribution business. This role requires deep technical ERP expertise and strong business acumen to assess current operations, lead vendor evaluation, manage implementation, and train users through go-live and stabilization.

Responsibilities
Develop a deep understanding of the company’s end-to-end business processes, including:
Procurement and purchasing
Receiving and inventory management
Warehouse operations
Order fulfillment and distribution
Invoicing and customer billing
Assess the current technology landscape, including:
A homegrown warehouse management and inventory tracking system
Basic purchase order tracking (no vendor management functionality)
No integrated financial system
Document current workflows, data flows, dependencies, and operational pain points
Identify inefficiencies, manual processes, scalability limitations, and risk areas
Define the ERP vision, scope, and roadmap aligned to business goals and growth plans
Recommend which ERP modules and functionality will deliver the greatest value, including:
Finance & accounting
Invoicing & AR
Purchasing & vendor management
Supply chain & distribution
Warehouse management
Inventory tracking & traceability
Design future-state workflows that improve efficiency, visibility, and control while respecting the realities of food distribution operations
Lead a structured ERP vendor selection process, including:
Requirements definition
Vendor shortlisting
Cost, licensing, and scalability analysis
Maintain strong awareness of ERP platforms in the market and objectively evaluate fit based on:
Functionality
Total cost of ownership
Implementation complexity
Long-term scalability
Make clear, defensible recommendations to leadership
Manage ERP licensing procurement and coordination with selected vendors
Lead or oversee ERP configuration, customization (where appropriate), and testing
Ensure all technology components—including infrastructure, network, and integrations—work together seamlessly
Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and implementation partners
Establish project plans, timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies
Ensure best practices are followed while avoiding unnecessary over-customization
Assess integration needs with existing or future systems
Oversee data cleansing, mapping, and migration from legacy systems
Ensure system performance, reliability, and data integrity
Apply knowledge of operating systems, programming concepts, enterprise backup, recovery, and monitoring to support a stable environment
Develop and deliver ERP training tailored to different user groups (operations, warehouse, finance, leadership)
Create documentation and training materials that are practical and easy to adopt
Support users during go-live and stabilization
Provide ongoing guidance or future-state technical support as needed
Qualification
Required
