Research Technician, Pillarsetty Lab
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is dedicated to ending cancer for life through innovative research and personalized care. The Pillarsetty Lab is seeking a Research Technician to support laboratory operations, conduct experiments, and handle radioactive samples to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain lab equipment and supplies; set up experiments; restock consumables; maintain general lab organization; perform routine cleanup, decontamination, and waste disposal according to lab policies
Conduct chemical, radiochemical, biochemical, and biological experiments, including in vitro cell culture and assay-based workflows; with experience, perform portions of experiments—and eventually complete experiments—independently
Work with radioactive materials and samples in accordance with radiation safety requirements, including proper shielding, storage, documentation, and disposal procedures
Support in vivo cancer studies in small and large animal models; process ex vivo tissues from animal models and ex vivo human-derived samples in accordance with approved protocols
Record procedures and results in a timely, well-documented laboratory notebook; assemble and organize experimental data for analysis and reporting
Complete all required safety and compliance training; follow institutional and laboratory procedures, including radiochemical handling requirements
Review relevant literature and attend required courses/seminars to support experimental planning and execution
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. (radioactive shipments may arrive in lead-shielded containers weighing ~20–40 lbs.)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in chemistry/biology/life sciences
Proven basic laboratory skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a research setting
