Responsibilities

Processes the full range of personnel and payroll transactions, including appointments, merit increases, promotions, transfers, separations, and other employment actions in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
Provides employees with clear, basic guidance on available benefit programs and assists them in understanding their options; reviews benefit documents for accuracy and completeness and routes them to the appropriate office
Reviews and maintains position files to ensure current and accurate job descriptions are on record for all positions within the agency
Assists agency staff by providing routine guidance on Civil Service rules, Federal and State employment laws, and departmental policies within assigned program areas
Coordinates and schedules required employee training; monitors participation and maintains accurate records of completed coursework
Supports HR operations by maintaining organized records, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with established standards and timelines

Required

Three years of human resources experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field
