Assistant to the Director - Youth Center Detention

NEOGOV is seeking an Assistant to the Director for their Youth Center Detention in Montgomery County, PA. The role involves performing a variety of administrative duties to support the Executive Director and other administrators, including managing correspondence, preparing meeting agendas, and ensuring the accuracy of payroll and budget documents.

Responsibilities

Interaction with the public and officials
Screening visitors, calls and letters
Prepares agenda and all necessary documents and distributes to Members for monthly Board of Managers meetings
Attends Board of Manager meetings, taking minutes and distributing them to all Board Members within a timely fashion
Does any and all work as required by the Executive Director and other Administrators
Handles Workers Compensation and Leave paperwork for all Youth Center employees
Submits claims for the National School Lunch Program on a monthly basis
Prepares submissions to Department of Human Services for annual licensing application renewal for the Youth Center
Ensures payroll is accurate and approved on a timely basis
Compiles and prepares for publication the annual program descriptions for both programs
Maintains and manages the master budget documents for the Youth Center
Assists with Act 148/Title IV E grant application and documentation
Assists with applicant screening and interviewing as requested by Administration
Provides training and assistance to Office Support Staff and Financial Technician

Must have previous office experience
Must project a professional demeanor at all times and maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to maintain harmonious and professional relationships with public and staff
Must possess good moral and ethical character
Flexibility to adjust work assignments according to demands of situational occurrences
Knowledge of general office policies, procedures and practices, as well as the use of computer and general office equipment
Any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Must have a PA Criminal History Record check, a drug test, Child Abuse History clearance and FBI fingerprint clearance prior to employment
Must have a physical examination report from a licensed physician
High School diploma or equivalent education
