Responsibilities
Support the oversight of document management processes, helping to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company standards
Assist with the development and implementation of food safety and quality programs, policies and procedures
Assist with data analysis and reporting related to food safety and quality metrics
Participate in projects such as Food Safety Plan review, Food Safety Culture initiatives, and training improvements
Visit the Iola and Abilene, Kansas, Russell Stover manufacturing plant at least two days a week, as needed, to support plant projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and ensure compliance
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety and quality requirements
Stay informed on industry trends and updates in food safety and quality regulations
Take on additional projects and tasks as needed to support the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory team
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards
Complete and follow FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the plant’s food safety and quality objectives
Promptly report and take appropriate action on any observed or potential food safety hazards, process deviations, or non-conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor, in accordance with your role and responsibilities
Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to travel weekly to the Iola or Abilene, Kansas Russell Stover manufacturing plant as required for the project
Preferred
Knowledge of food science and manufacturing
Experience with databases and data management systems
Familiarity with various software platforms
Confident Problem Solver / Solution-driven individual
Able to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative environment
