The Design Engineer will support product engineers with 3D CAD designs, product innovation, and manufacturing efficiency initiatives while engaging in continuous improvement of the design workflow.

Responsibilities
Support individual NPI development projects and coordinate activities with product engineers
Utilize Catia V5, Teamcenter, and Oracle forms databases to support engineering product design and release
Redesigning existing products to help achieve material cost savings and improve manufacturing efficiency
Support existing product design changes for product renovation initiatives
Help support future innovation / renovation initiatives
Engage with team on ideas for continuous improvement in the overall engineering and design process
Learn & become very knowledgeable on manufacturing capabilities and standard materials used in EC products
Qualification
Required
2-5 years (or more) of experience in product development, 3D CAD modeling and 2D print detailing preferably using Catia V5 design software
Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, practices, and processes
Strong written and oral communications skills to include presentation skills
Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with all levels of employees and groups
Knowledge of GD&T, PPAP, APQP, SPC, and failure analysis a plus
Analytical trouble shooting and problem solving
Excellent computer skills to include knowledge of MS Office, SAP, Catia or other CAD software
Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs
Ability to communicate (written and verbally) in English
Ability to clearly give and receive information through verbal (speaking & hearing) and written forms
Preferred
Degree in engineering (preferred) or technical field
Experience in design of automotive EC components and products preferred
