Responsibilities
Interpret product requirements and develop mechanical design solutions
Create part drawings, solid models and bills of material (BOMs)
Participate in design and drawing reviews
Collaborate with suppliers to source components and materials
Prototype, test, and iterate on designs
Apply sound engineering judgment to solve technical problems
Maintain and update mechanical subassemblies throughout product lifecycle
Apply strong understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure high quality parts
Prepare and document accurate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Qualification
Required
3+ years of product development experience
Associate's degree in engineering CAD or related field
Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software
Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and specifications
Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
Preferred
Experience with injection-molded, plastic-part design
Experience with sheet metal and machined part design
Hands on prototyping and 3D printing experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools
Detail-oriented, self-directed, organized and deadline driven
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, team-focused environment
Understanding of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5)
