WB Games NetherRealm Software Engineering Intern Co-op: Chicago - Jun-Dec 2026
NetherRealm Studios, part of Warner Bros. Games, is seeking a Software Engineering Intern Co-op for their Chicago office from June to December 2026. The intern will have the opportunity to engage in real-world programming tasks, contributing to the development of a AAA-quality console game while collaborating with a talented team on various game features and tools.

Responsibilities
Explore a wide range of real-world programming tasks while contributing to the development of a AAA-quality Console game
Work with a team of talented industry veterans on tasks ranging from creating tools to improve productivity, to helping with implementation of gameplay features
Collaborate with Gameplay team members, art, design and quality assurance to implement game features, debug tools, automated tests and fix bugs
Qualification
Required
Excellent C/C++ programming skills. We are looking for people with a good understanding of the language, and an appreciation for object-oriented architecture
Microsoft Visual C++ development environment
A passion for video game technology and gameplay mechanics
Ability to collaborate with engineers and content creators to develop robust and fun game-play
Creative, results-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful problem-solver
Ability to work well in a team development environment with strong communication skills
Strong desire to build industry-leading game systems
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
Must be a rising Junior or Senior or Master's student (18 years or older)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA). A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended
Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program
Preferred
Familiarity with the Unreal Engine 4 is a plus (Not Required)
