Responsibilities
Lead re-platforming and rewriting efforts: migrate monolithic, on-prem systems to secure, scalable AWS-native environments
Architect end-to-end modernization strategies, including greenfield builds, hybrid transformations, and phased migrations
Design and validate modernization blueprints: event-driven patterns, API-first architectures, GenAI-embedded workflows
Oversee multi-workstream delivery, ensuring consistency, compliance, and iterative improvements across all teams
Engage executives and technical leaders, shaping roadmaps that balance cost, risk, and modernization velocity
Mentor and elevate architects/engineers, driving architectural best practices across re- platforming and rewrite programs
Own modernization assurance, from code quality to infrastructure resilience, ensuring long-term sustainability of transformed systems
Qualification
Required
8+ years in enterprise software architecture with direct leadership of large-scale re-platforming or rewriting programs
AWS Certified — Associate or Professional level (AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Specialty certification required)
Daily use of GenAI since Jan 2023 for real product delivery, automation, or system acceleration
Proven success modernizing mission-critical systems—multi-million-dollar, multi-year transformations
Hands-on expertise with cloud-native rewrites (microservices, event-driven, serverless)
Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, and architectural design for API-first ecosystems
Advanced AWS expertise (Bedrock, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS/EKS, SageMaker). AWS Professional-level certification required
Strong executive communication skills: able to justify modernization decisions at boardroom level while guiding technical details at engineering level
Preferred
Experience leading brownfield rewrites of legacy mainframes or ERP-class systems
Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks, RAG, and LLM-accelerated migration tooling
Background in GovTech, EdTech, or regulated industries with modernization mandates
Thought leadership: published patterns, presented at conferences, or led enterprise modernization practices
