Responsibilities

Oversee all operational functions nationwide, including direct leadership of project management, field operations, superintendents, and support teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of multimillion-dollar projects with uncompromising quality and safety
Formulate and implement operational strategies that support aggressive growth objectives, enhance productivity, mitigate risks, and drive continuous process improvements in areas such as supply chain, labor management, equipment utilization, and project controls
Lead a strong safety-first culture through rigorous compliance, proactive training programs, incident prevention, and adherence to industry standards and regulations
Partner closely with estimating, engineering, finance, and business development teams to refine workflows, improve bid accuracy, maximize project margins, and deliver integrated solutions that differentiate the firm in competitive markets
Establish and track critical operational KPIs, including cost performance, schedule adherence, resource efficiency, and client satisfaction, while proactively identifying innovations and efficiencies to boost bottom-line results
Cultivate strategic relationships with key subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and clients to secure reliable partnerships and support long-term project success
Develop and mentor high-caliber operations talent, including leadership recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and team building to create a scalable, high-performance organization
Contribute to enterprise initiatives such as geographic expansion, adoption of cutting-edge technologies (e.g., advanced modeling, automation, and sustainable practices), and integration of new service lines

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
15+ years of progressive leadership in operations within electrical, mechanical, specialty contracting, or heavy construction industries, including at least 5–7 years in senior executive roles (e.g., VP Operations, COO, or equivalent)
Proven success managing large-scale, complex projects (multi-million to hundred-million-dollar range) across design-build, plan-spec, and integrated delivery models in high-growth sectors
Strong financial and business acumen, with hands-on experience in P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and margin enhancement
Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams, navigate challenges in dynamic environments, and drive accountability at all levels
Technical proficiency in project management tools, scheduling software, analytics platforms, and industry-specific technologies
Willingness to travel extensively to support regional operations, project sites, and strategic initiatives
