Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates, supervises, and directs the shift activities of custodial personnel
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or equivalent
Two years of janitorial or custodial experience
One year of experience operating in any lead or supervisory capacity, which may or may not be concurrent with the required two years of janitorial or custodial experience
A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required
Positions in this classification will be required to work day, night, late night, and weekend shifts and may be required to be on-call for emergencies
This position requires full-time, in-person site attendance
Knowledge of custodial cleaning and sanitation methods and standards
Knowledge of methods of cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, walls, doors, wood, and plastic furniture
Knowledge of common cleaning materials, such as soap, detergent, solvents, and waxes
Knowledge of safety practices as applied to custodial work
Knowledge of custodial equipment and its care and maintenance
Knowledge of principles and practices of employee selection, supervision and performance evaluation
Knowledge of fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
Competency in environmental exposure tolerance – performing under physically demanding conditions
Competency in professional & technical expertise – applying technical subject matter to the job
Competency in safety focus – showing vigilance and care in identifying and addressing health risks and safety hazards
Competency in using technology – working with electronic hardware and software applications
