Office Engineer

Responsibilities
Assist the project team in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals. Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status report, as required
Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project information system
Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies). Work with the Contractor(s) to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner
Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractor(s)
Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings
Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log, etc
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or other related technical field required
At least 5 years of experience, preferably on airport projects
Experience working on large team for complex projects
Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build
Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
May assume other duties as required/needed
Maybe required to work past regular work shift
Maybe required to work various shifts as needed
LAWA will provide a desktop computer that can be VPN'd into or a laptop computer
Consultant MUST have a company-provided laptop computer. This is required for company business and to VPN into LAWA system when away from the office as necessary
Cell phone provided by consultant is required
This is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX
After hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position. This shall be considered part of the salary
Preferred
Experience with Project Management Implementation Systems; ability to work in PM Web preferred
Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certifications
