Responsibilities
Enhance existing applications to support new requirements, protocol changes, and improvements for grid reliability and market efficiency operations
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development best practices and standards
Implement power flows, contingency analysis, and frequency control
Work with Oracle/SQL and proprietary databases
Help enhance EMS vendor products/develop system interfaces
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in Power Systems Engineering or related field
3+ years of hands-on software development experience with enterprise applications in C++ (primary), Java, or Python
Experience with energy management systems (EMS) and SCADA applications
Knowledge of power system protocols and communication standards (ICCP, DNP3, IEC 61850)
Ability to quickly ramp up on existing codebases and complex power systems applications
Hands on experience writing SQL queries
Preferred
Familiarity with GE Grid E-terra
