Responsibilities
Drive mechanical design research efforts that support cutting‑edge innovation
Provide expert mechanical engineering leadership while collaborating across disciplines
Design, develop, prototype, and document components, sub‑assemblies, and assemblies for advanced test and measurement systems
Validate fit and function through rapid prototyping and simulation
Guide prototype development and coordinate manufacturing and integration of mechanical and electromechanical systems
Lead peer design reviews and trade studies
Support continuous technical excellence
Engage with manufacturing partners and contribute to invention documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, documentation, and fabrication
Strong foundation in engineering, mathematics, and physics
Proven ability to collaborate on complex technical problems and communicate clearly
Experience directing the full lifecycle of mechanical systems (specification, design, manufacturing, testing)
Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and engineering drawings)
Strong knowledge of GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5) standards
Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Must pass Health Services screening, including accurate color vision
Ability to work in laboratory, manufacturing, and golf course environments
Able to lift up to 40 lbs
Ability to travel locally daily and overnight as needed
Preferred
Advanced degree and/or coursework in mathematics or computer science preferred
Expertise in metal forming and joining methods (fasteners, rivets, inserts, welding, bonding) preferred
Experience with project scheduling, monitoring, and reporting
Understanding of the game of golf strongly preferred
Experience with AutoCAD (preferred) and SolidWorks PDM (preferred)
