Responsibilities

Lead CTM’s organization wide communications strategy, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned across departments and platforms
Serve as the steward of CTM’s voice and storytelling, helping the organization communicate who we are, what we do, and why it matters
In collaboration with the Director Marketing and The Director of Fundraising, work together to provide strategic communications for public relations, marketing, and fundraising efforts
Manage communications projects from planning through execution, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, establish goals, track performance, and use data and insights to evaluate the effectiveness of communications efforts
Oversee and contribute to written content that reflects CTM’s mission, programs, and impact across fundraising, programs, institutional communications, and digital platforms including social media
Own CTM’s voice by setting copy direction and editorial standards to ensure consistency across audiences and platforms
Develop and maintain a shared editorial content calendar that aligns storytelling, fundraising, ticketing, and community engagement efforts
Provide editorial leadership for CTM’s digital platforms, ensuring content is accurate, current, and aligned with organizational values and goals
Lead CTM’s public relations efforts, including press releases, media pitches, interview preparation, and talking points
Serve as a primary point of contact for media inquiries and cultivate relationships with local and regional media partners
Provide messaging guidance for high visibility or sensitive communications in partnership with organizational leadership
Partner closely with the Director of Fundraising to support contributed revenue through compelling written storytelling across digital and print appeals
Lead grant writing and grant related project management, including timelines, drafts, submissions, and post grant reporting
Develop and maintain shared narrative materials to support consistency and efficiency across fundraising and advancement efforts
Represent CTM at community, donor, and media events with members of Strategic Advancement team; serve as ambassador for the organization. Perform other duties as assigned to support CTM’s mission and organizational success

Required

5+ years experience in marketing and communications in writing and editing; preferred experience in nonprofit, arts, education, or youth serving organizations
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate organizational impact into compelling content for families, donors, media, and community partners
Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail, with a clear understanding of voice, tone, and audience
Strong desire to work in a creative, collaborative environment and partner with colleagues on strategy and group deliverables
Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining clarity and quality
Experience with digital communications, including website content management, email marketing, social media platforms, and basic analytics tools
Brand and design sensibility, with the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, vendors, and cross functional teams
Experience supporting or leading grant writing, funder reporting, or donor facing communications
Curiosity, flexibility, and a commitment to learning and growing within the role

Preferred

Preferred Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or nonprofit management
