Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst for the Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) applies advanced knowledge of accounting systems & procedures to research & analyze complex financial data, resolve discrepancies, & administer the fiscal aspects of grants while providing guidance & training as a lead worker
Research & analyze complex information using critical thinking to resolve errors &/or modify data by administering the fiscal aspect of one or more statewide criminal justice grants (i.e., Department of Justice grants, State of Ohio General Revenue Fund grants, etc.)
Monitor grant compliance & provide technical assistance to state & local agencies & Executive Director regarding grant-related issues
Conduct on-site fiscal monitoring to ensure compliance with applicable federal & state statutes, regulations, grant requirements, including uniform administrative requirements & cost principles for federal & state grants
Assess internal controls developed & implemented by the sub-grantee to demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements, including organizational operations, policies, procedures, financial reports, & recordkeeping

Required

42 mos. exp. or 42 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software
Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; AND 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software
Completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; AND 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software
12 mos. exp. as Financial Analyst, 66562
Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience
