Customer Service Representative I Transit
Manatee County Government is dedicated to providing essential services to the community, and they are seeking a Customer Service Representative I Transit. Responsibilities
Assists with Para-Transit scheduling and coordination
Indexes and files correspondence, reports, cards, records and other related materials, in accordance with established policies and procedures
Receives and dispenses information by telephone, letter, or by direct contact with the public; explains departmental programs and policies in a positive and courteous manner
Processes telephone requests for both registration and appointments for the Para-Transit system
Screens applicants to determine eligibility needs based on established criteria
Makes referrals to related human services agencies for assistance as individual needs dictate
Verifies invoices and other related billing procedures
Prepares and maintains computerized reports and files
Attends transit-related training as directed by management
Communicates clearly, effectively and tactfully, orally via telephone, and in writing; may communicate with drivers via radio
Acts as the Emergency Operations Center Special Needs Representative
Assist with Paratransit scheduling and coordination, Transit/Trolley route information and schedules, and serving customers at Transit Station and transfer points
Performs other related work (including weather or other extreme emergency duties) as required
Managing the front desk by answering complaint phone lines, greeting and directing visitors, and controlling access to the parking lot
Receiving and distributing deliveries from Amazon, UPS, FedEx, USPS, and interoffice mail
Delivering mail and packages to Transit staff in a timely manner
Lifting and transporting equipment or supplies up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance
Scheduling and coordinating appointments and meetings for management
Attending meetings to take minutes and track follow-up actions, as requested
Maintaining division and/or section calendars
Coordinating candidate interviews, including scheduling, greeting, and processing necessary documentation
Assisting with transit-related tasks such as providing route information, conducting client surveys, and logging complaints
Qualification
Required
High school graduate/equivalent
Minimum Of Two (2) Years Clerical Customer Service-oriented Experience
Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, the street system and geography of Manatee County
Skill in computer operations, including pertinent software applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access) and a specialized Transit Customer Service system (training provided)
Preferred
Prior experience in a customer service call or support center environment highly desired
