Responsibilities

Maintain an active research agenda that advances the Department’s program in the area of judicial politics
Teach classes that complement the Department’s current offerings at both the graduate and undergraduate levels
Develop new course offerings and advise students
Teach effectively the department's undergraduate judicial politics introductory course and advanced undergraduate courses on constitutional law and civil liberties
Develop advance undergraduate judicial politics classes in their area(s) of expertise, e.g., comparative law, criminal law and policy, interdisciplinary law and society studies, trial courts, or related topics
Publish regularly in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
Serve the community, university, and profession

Ph.D. in Political ScienceResearch agenda developmentMethodological skillsTeachingMentorshipCommunication skills

Required

Ph.D. in Political Science or Government (ABD candidates considered, but Ph.D. must be conferred by the start date)
Potential to develop an active research agenda that will secure external funding
Appropriate methodological skills
Evidence of and commitment to establishing an excellent record of teaching and mentorship/advising
Excellent communication skills
Ability to teach effectively the department's undergraduate judicial politics introductory course and advanced undergraduate courses on constitutional law and civil liberties
Ability to develop advanced undergraduate judicial politics classes in area(s) of expertise (e.g., comparative law, criminal law and policy, interdisciplinary law and society studies, trial courts, or related topics)
Regularly publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
Serve the community, university, and profession
