Engineering Laboratory Technician

Edge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Lab Technician to join their post-launch quality engineering team. This role is essential in supporting product and data analysis, identifying reasons for customer returns, and delivering actionable insights to drive product improvements.

Responsibilities

Inspect returned products for compliance with quality and safety standards
Troubleshoot and resolve production test issues escalated from Repair Technicians; report findings to Quality Engineers
Conduct basic teardowns of returned consumer products, documenting all steps and findings
Identify and communicate quality anomalies to the cross-functional team for further review
Evaluate the overall consumer experience to identify performance gaps and track key product trends
Maintain product health reporting and contribute to ongoing product and process improvement efforts
Present status updates and project reports to management regularly
Support facility upkeep, including workstation maintenance and organization as needed

Required

Associate's degree in a technical field or certification from a vocational/trade school
Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and solve technical issues
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment
Comfortable working independently or collaboratively with shifting priorities
Capable of using hand tools for repair, maintenance, or testing tasks

Preferred

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Product Development, or related fields—ideally in a consumer goods environment
Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as multimeters, digital scales, and pressure gauges
Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical principles and systems
