Responsibilities
Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of electrical and specialty construction projects
Direct and mentor project teams, including assistant project managers, engineers, and field staff, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project goals
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives
Oversee financial aspects of projects, including cost estimation, value engineering, and monitoring expenditures to maintain profitability
Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments
Collaborate on design-build and design-assist processes, providing technical input and innovative solutions during the planning phase
Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues related to scheduling, resources, or technical challenges swiftly and effectively
Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports, delivering updates to senior leadership and clients as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in electrical contracting or specialty construction, with at least 3 years in a lead role within Operations
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project), CAD tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong understanding of construction processes, electrical codes (NEC), and pre-construction services like value engineering or design coordination
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and adapt to dynamic project demands
Valid driver's license required
Preferred
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred; OSHA 10, 30, or similar safety certifications are a bonus
Familiarity with electrical systems, low-voltage installations, or fire safety systems is a plus
Virginia electrical contractor license or journeyman certification is a plus
