Asphalt Project Manager/Estimator
Manatt's Inc is a leader in Iowa's heavy highway construction and materials industry, specializing in asphalt and concrete. They are seeking an Asphalt Project Manager/Estimator to manage projects from administration to closeout, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to schedules.

Responsibilities
Assess and control risk of work proposed and to complete
Assist in reviewing estimates and bids for proper scope coverage and efficient production
Conduct detailed job cost analysis and review
Responsible for the management of the entire project, including scheduling, purchasing, quality and safety
Manage project schedule throughout course of design and/or construction process and develop schedule to assure desired project completion dates are met
Ability to participate in preconstruction services, including estimating
Schedule sub-contractors and work with Prime
Monitor the progress of the construction activities with periodic on-site inspections, track potential disputes and claims, procure punch list for the project, perform inspections, and resolve any deficiencies
Collaborate with other Project Manager(s) to find alternative solutions
Collaborate and monitor Superintendent(s) performance on contracts and/or work orders
Negotiate financial disputes and change orders
Create and maintain project cost reports
Document and negotiate changes that may affect project completion or contract costs with subcontractors and owners
Track, review and process Change Proposal Requests, Change Orders, Owner Payment Applications and, if applicable, claims
Develop field quality assurance and quality control plan with Superintendent(s)
Collaboration of project safety plan with Superintendent(s)
Responsible for EEO/Affirmative action contract requirements
Proactively manages potential problems, work interferences and utility conflicts
Coordinates various phases of work to avoid construction delays
Looks at the big project picture while making decisions and judgments regarding the specific work
Qualification
Required
Valid DL with good driving record
Excellent math and geometry skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must have ability to interact with external and internal customers and partners in a fast pace, multitasking environment, working independently with a high degree of problem solving
Travel required in Muscatine, Scott, and Clinton County areas
Must be able to pass a pre-work physical screening and a drug test
Preferred
Previous asphalt paving experience preferred
Project Management experience preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; preferably in construction management
Knowledgeable in and proven abilities with estimating in a paving or construction type environment viewed as a plus
Proficiency in use of Excel and experience with an estimating package helpful
