Postdoctoral Scientist - Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Research
Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Suicide Prevention and Research. The role focuses on community-based research aimed at youth suicide prevention and includes opportunities for data analysis, publication contributions, and collaboration with faculty and research teams.

Responsibilities
Designs studies, develops study protocols, and conducts research under the guidance of a faculty mentor
Records and analyzes data generated by the research study. Assists in the development of hypotheses for further investigation from the results of the studies performed
Assists with the preparation of scientific and technical papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and presents findings at local and national research forums
Collaborates with other ongoing research efforts either at NCH or other partnering institutions
Works toward research independence, preparing to submit proposals to and obtain funding from external granting agencies
Qualification
Required
Effective interpersonal skills required in interactions with scientists, physicians, and research colleagues
Previous experience in relevant research areas
Strong quantitative analytic skills with familiarity in advanced statistical techniques (e.g. longitudinal analysis, survival analysis, multi-level modeling) and experience with statistical software packages: SAS, STATA, R, SPSS
Excellent writing skills as evidenced by application materials, peer-reviewed publications
PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in behavioral or social science (e.g., psychology, social work, public health, epidemiology)
Preferred
Previous grant writing experience is not required but a plus
