Responsibilities
Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
Sourcing the materials to be used in the project
Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to read blueprints
Knowledge of metallurgy
Knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding
Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques
Taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Setting up components for welding according to specifications
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Able to work alone and stay motivated while working in the field or on projects
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of related experience
Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to read blueprints

Preferred
Experience in coordinating system integration with other systems
Oil and Gas, or Manufacturing and Logistics experience
Experience troubleshooting various control systems, including analog, digital, serial and Ethernet circuits
Ability to analyze and/or design business processes end-to-end
Ability to communicate and interact effectively at both technical and business level
Strong team player with proven ability to work effectively cross-functionally
