This role combines data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps support, focusing on AWS-hosted databases, automation, and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities
Support and maintain production Postgres, MySQL, and SQL Server databases hosted on AWS RDS
Develop and automate solutions using Python scripting and SQL queries
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for performance improvements
Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Provide database reliability, monitoring, and operational support
Respond to incidents, alerts, and developer requests during on-call rotations
Assist engineering teams with query optimization, schema design, and database best practices
Participate in deployments and release support activities
Continuously improve system stability through automation and proactive monitoring
Qualification
Required
Experience in Data Engineering or Database Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Python (scripting, data handling, pandas basics)
Strong hands-on experience with SQL (joins, aggregations, optimization)
Strong hands-on experience with AWS (especially RDS)
Experience working with Postgres and/or SQL Server
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation or similar)
Experience supporting production environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred
DevOps or SRE exposure
Experience supporting multiple application teams
Enterprise or financial services environment experience
