Supervisory Investigative Protection Officer
The United States Secret Service is seeking a Supervisory Investigative Protection Officer within the Office of Field Operations. This role involves managing protective and investigative operations, ensuring compliance with security procedures, and conducting sensitive investigations.

Responsibilities
Managing staff who perform protective, investigative, technical, and administrative tasks; making sure work is timely and meets quality standards; and reviewing employee performance
Managing logistics and strategic planning for protective services and transportation for internal and external law enforcement counterparts; ensuring security procedures are implemented at official events and that restricted areas are monitored and accessible only to authorized personnel
Conducting complex and sensitive law enforcement investigations; providing oversight and guidance on procedures and regulations; and ensuring compliance with protective and investigative standards
Staying current on criminal intelligence and investigative developments; coordinating security needs with internal and external law enforcement partners
Preparing and reviewing investigation reports and crime prevention surveys; documenting findings, causes, and recommendations to prevent future incidents
Qualification
Required
US Citizenship is required
Possess and maintain a current valid driver's license. Must be REAL ID compliant
Obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance
Certify registration or exemption with the Selective Service if you are a male applicant born after 12/31/59
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random testing during employment
Submit to a polygraph examination prior to your appointment
Complete pre-employment medical examinations
Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Exceptions may apply for those with current or prior service in federal law enforcement positions covered by special retirement provisions
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges
Complete or secure an appropriate waiver for a 13-week Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) AND a 10-week Mixed Basic Training Course (MBTC) at the Agency's James J. Rowley Training Center (RTC)
May be required to serve a 1-year supervisory probationary period
To qualify for the GS-13 grade level you must possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Assigning and/or reviewing team members' work, Performing and/or conducting protective or investigative activities, Ensuring investigative data is accurately entered into all required systems, Planning logistics for protective services and transportation for law enforcement partners, Preparing reports and/or presentations for senior management on protective or investigative operations
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service on a non-temporary appointment
