CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFO CONSULTANT II - 71000122
The State of Florida's Department of Law Enforcement is seeking a Criminal Justice Info Consultant II to serve as the main point of contact for an assigned system. This role involves assisting management with system and business needs related to criminal history records and coordinating the work of other analysts while ensuring data security and integrity.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Serving as subject matter expect related to computerized criminal history systems to include comprehension and interpretation of interface control documents, operation guides and database relationships
Providing on-going quality assurance to identify potential problems and recommend alternative resolutions related to the use of systems
Coordinating maintenance and development of operational systems in conjunction with Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure organizational goals and statutory requirements are met
Participating in requirements gathering and coordinates the communication for computerized criminal history systems necessary to facilitate required functions
Consulting with local, state, and federal agencies relate to criminal justice information systems. Advises and coordinates with these agencies for the development of criminal justice information plans. Exercises independent judgment in formulating or assessing policies and procedures impacting these agencies; and
Conducting research and analysis to prepare plans, recommendations, and reports relating to objectives established by the division strategic plan. Works with members of other functional areas within the Department to ensure efficient and effective accomplishments of agency objectives
Qualification
Required
Must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center/Florida Crime Information Center (NCIC/FCIC) certification as required
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication
Knowledge of the criminal justice system
Knowledge of the methods of data collection
Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques
Ability to operate computers and other office equipment
Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities
Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments
Ability to communicate effectively
Preferred
Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position
