Manufacturing Engineer (Second Shift)

Responsibilities
Lead project production efforts to ensure completion on time, within scope, and on budget
Partner with design, SMT, and production teams to resolve process and technical challenges
Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans that align with business goals
Communicate progress and updates to internal teams, vendors, and customers
Supervise or mentor project team members to promote accountability and collaboration
Plan and optimize manufacturing methods and production sequences for PCB assembly, soldering, and testing
Review specifications, work orders, and schedules to identify improvement opportunities
Analyze production data to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Apply Lean, Kaizen, and 5S principles to enhance efficiency and reliability
Develop process documentation, time studies, and labor standards for improved resource use
Perform engineering calculations to establish design, assembly, and testing standards
Support New Product Introductions (NPI) and design for manufacturability (DFM) activities
Review and update technical drawings, BOMs, and assembly specifications
Troubleshoot design, materials, or process issues and recommend improvements
Partner with design engineers to enhance product quality, yield, and manufacturability
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
Inspect assemblies and installations for adherence to safety, design, and environmental standards
Support audits and maintain documentation for process validation and control
Uphold 5S workplace organization and continuous improvement practices
Estimate labor, material, and tooling costs for projects and process changes
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through improved process design or automation
Drive continuous improvement projects that reduce cycle time and enhance yield
Participate in capital project planning for new equipment and technology upgrades
Program and maintain software for automated production and test equipment (SMT, AOI, ICT)
Troubleshoot and optimize programs to ensure quality and efficiency
Maintain documentation for revisions and system updates
Train operators and technicians on system use and functionality
Support integration of MES and data-tracking systems for improved visibility
Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment
Stay current with advances in EMS technology, automation, and process improvement
Participate in training, workshops, and professional development
Collaborate across departments to strengthen team performance and innovation
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
Consideration as an applicant for this position will be limited to individuals who are either a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in CAD/CAM, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Prior experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment required
Strong knowledge of SMT processes, PCB assembly, and manufacturing standards
