Oil and Gas Inspector - HYBRID.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is seeking an Oil and Gas Inspector to conduct compliance evaluations and inspections for oil and gas operations in accordance with state air quality regulations. The role involves assessing compliance with air pollution regulations, investigating citizen complaints, and providing compliance assistance to ensure public health and environmental protection.

Qualification
Required
This position is only open to Colorado state residents
This is an entry-level position
Four (4) years of experience in an environmental or regulatory field which included regulatory compliance, conducting field inspections, and/or enforcement activities related to air pollution inspection and enforcement or a closely related field as determined by the department
A combination of related education (relevant education includes: environmental science, engineering, chemistry, physics, geology, biology, or closely related field) and/or relevant experience in environmental, regulatory, or policy field which included regulatory compliance, conducting field inspections, and/or enforcement activities related to air pollution inspection and enforcement or a closely related field as determined by the position equal to four (4) years
A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process
TRAVEL: 35% spent traveling for inspections and complaint investigations throughout the state. Travel will often require evening and overnight stays
Preferred
Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
Experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data for program monitoring or decision making purposes
Experience interpreting or implementing state and/or federal air quality regulations
Experience writing technical documents
Experience providing compliance assistance
Experience communicating both orally and in writing to a wide range of audiences
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships
Proven ability to work as a part of a team
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently
