Responsibilities
Lead high-visibility, national railroad safety projects from concept through construction
Serve in a seller-doer role, balancing technical delivery with client interaction and relationship building
Conduct and review technical analyses, investigations, and calculations for railroad and traffic engineering projects
Prepare reports, documentation, and technical memoranda relied on by clients and stakeholders
Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality control, ensuring successful delivery
Coordinate with clients, railroads, agencies, and internal teams to keep projects on track
Draft and manage project correspondence and provide regular status updates
Apply design standards, codes, and safety requirements across all projects
Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and technical support
Travel to project sites as needed to meet client and project requirements
Drive projects that directly improve rail and roadway safety nationwide
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Senior-level experience managing railroad grade crossing safety and traffic signal projects
Proficiency in engineering software such as MicroStation, InRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Strong understanding of codes, standards, and industry best practices
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
