Senior Cost Accountant

Card-Monroe Corp. is a global leader in tufting technology, seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support financial accuracy and operational insight. The role involves partnering with plant and project teams to manage costs, margins, and inventory while ensuring compliance with GAAP and supporting various financial processes.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update standard costs, BOMs, and labor/overhead rates
Manage and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP) balances
Analyze margins, variances, and cost drivers
Support inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventories
Partner with operations and project managers to resolve discrepancies
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and deferrals in accordance with GAAP
Perform monthly reconciliations (inventory, WIP, leases, prepaids, accruals)
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Assist with audit schedules and documentation
Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts
Provide cost and WIP inputs for planning assumptions
Deliver variance analysis with clear commentary for leadership
Develop financial and operational reporting for management
Support ERP and data improvement initiatives
Participate in special projects and cross-functional improvements

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in cost/manufacturing or project accounting
Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, NetSuite, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, pivots, lookups, modeling)
Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
